Saint Anthony Cemetery is the only active Catholic cemetery in Tompkins County outside of Ithaca. All parishioners of the N.E.T. Catholic parishes are strongly encouraged to consider Christian Burial in this beautiful cemetery in Groton, NY.
The cemetery is located on Clark Street Extension off of East Cortland Street (Rt. 222) across the road from Groton Rural Cemetery.
Plots currently are available for both forms of Christian burial (casket burials as well as cremation) in several different areas of the cemetery.
Saint Anthony Church supports the maintenance and grounds improvements to the cemetery through the generous donations of parishioners.
To get a sense of our cemetery, we invite you to take a walking tour. Take a moment to sit and pray. Spend some quiet time with the Lord and the memory of those who have gone before us. Our cemetery is a place to pray and remember all that God has given us. Reflect on where you choose to be buried when your time comes to go home to the Lord. Would you like to rest here among others who have shared in your same faith and under the care of the Catholic Church forever?
“Lord Jesus Christ, by your own three days in the tomb,
you hallowed the graves of all who believe in you
and so made the grave a sign of hope
that promises resurrection even as it claims our mortal bodies.”
