A very special Advent Season
This Advent Season will be quite different as we continue to do our best to stay safe through this pandemic and as we wait in hope for the vaccines to be approved, produced and distributed over the next year or so and for the possibility of some normalcy by next Advent. Hopefully the utter strangeness of this year will be an opportunity for a slower and quieter approach to the season, one in which we can truly focus on God, on God’s nearness, love and presence in the small and humble things. We have prepared a number of resources and events to help you journey through this season:
At home ritual
We have provided most of our households with an at home ritual that includes and advent wreath and nativity set. If you do not have one, you can pick one in church. You can find instructions on what to do each day with the wreath and nativity set in the website mentioned above.
Attending Mass
This prayerful season of joyful expectation I encourage you to find the time to attend Mass in person or online not only on Sundays bust also during the week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Confessions and Adoration
This time is also a great opportunity to celebrate God’s love and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Confession. We will have scheduled Confessions Saturday, December 12 from 11 am to 1 pm at Holy Cross, Saturday, December 19 from 11 am to 1 pm at All Saints and Saturday, December 26 from 11 am to 1 pm at Saint Anthony. You can also stop by for quiet time in the tenderness of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the same time of Confessions.
Advent Ignatian Retreat with Dawn
Each Tuesday of Advent at 6 pm you can join us on Facebook and YouTube for a 10 minutes Advent Ignatian Retreat with Dawn, you can also come back any other time and find the retreat recording.
The Angelus
I also invite you to join us every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Noon on Facebook for the Angelus, a short prayer that invites us to contemplate the mystery of the Incarnation which the very reason for this season.
Short reflection on the Daily Scriptures and a meditation song
We also invite you to join us every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a very short reflection on the Daily Scriptures and a meditation song on Facebook at 8:30 am.

Embracing the coming of Jesus in our Migrant Sisters and Brothers
Hopefully, through all the present circumstances we have discovered what matters and how little we really need all the extra material things that we surround ourselves with. How beautiful it would be if this season we avoid a shopping spree for us and our loved ones and limit ourselves to a few simple meaningful gifts, using all the money we would have spent getting really expensive or multiple gifts for each person to instead buy gifts for other children of God that might not have the same financial resources that we have. For this purpose we have created an Amazon Wishlist so that you can shop safely and help us get Christmas presents for 40 Migrant Families. We have called this initiative “Embracing the coming of Jesus in our Migrant Sisters and Brothers”. Gifts will be shipped directly to the parish and we will deliver them to the Migrants on the Feast of the Epiphany, in their culture the Wisemen are the ones that bring the gifts.
Link to Amazon Wish List
Honor a friend or family member by purchasing a gift from our wish list in their honor. After completing your order, come back to this page and Print This Acknowledgement Card, which you can then present to the recipient. A great idea for the person who has everything!
